Hello everyone. In this article, we will consider reviews from real buyers of the Samsung Galaxy A55 smartphone and give our comments. And you, in turn, write in the comments what smartphone you have, what are its pros and cons, in your opinion. ⬇⬇⬇
Large amount of RAM
Large RAM capacity – indeed, the Galaxy A55 has three memory configurations – 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB. The result is quite encouraging, although not the best on the market in its price category.
Average price category
Average price category – the average price for a smartphone with an 8GB/128GB configuration is 30,000 rubles. But on our website you can buy the Galaxy A55 at a much better price. Overall, for its money, the smartphone really offers great features.
Design
Let’s talk about the design – it’s really not bad, the appearance of the smartphone is made according to the long-known Samsung formula.
Galaxy A55, like its predecessor, continues the stylistic line of the flagship Galaxy S24. The design of the device is almost identical: strict forms, minimalism and an emphasis on premium details. Compared to the A54, the new product has become a little larger, and the side frame is now completely flat – in the spirit of modern trends. It looks stylish, but in terms of convenience in the hand, the A54 felt a little more comfortable due to the rounding.
An important improvement is the frame material: now it is metal, unlike the plastic case of the A54. This gives the device greater strength and visually raises it in class. Instead of Gorilla Glass 5, a more reliable and scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass Victus + coating is now used both at the front and back. The smartphone case also received protection according to the IP67 standard – it can withstand short-term immersion in water to a depth of one meter.
The smartphone is available in Iceblue, Lilac, Navy and Lemon colors.
Interface
The interface is also praised. Let’s talk about it in more detail. The Samsung Galaxy A55 comes with the latest version of Android 14 and the proprietary One UI 6.1 shell. The company promises up to four years of operating system updates and five years of security patches – a serious commitment that distinguishes the A55 from most competitors in the mid-range segment.
One UI 6.1 debuted with the Galaxy S24 line, and the Galaxy A55 inherited almost all the functionality of the interface. The only exception is the Galaxy AI features, which remain exclusive to the flagship models.
Cameras
Samsung did not update the cameras in the Galaxy A55. The smartphone is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera Sony IMX906 with an aperture of f / 1.8 and optical stabilization. In addition to it, there is a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module with a viewing angle of 123 ° and an aperture of f / 2.2, as well as a 5-megapixel macro camera. The front camera remains the same – 32 MP.
Instead of focusing on hardware, Samsung focused on software improvements – processing algorithms and artificial intelligence functions. The camera suggests how to improve the frame while shooting, and you can edit photos that have already been taken: remove unnecessary objects or apply automatic settings suggested by AI. Everything is implemented at an intuitive level, without the need to install additional applications.
As for the quality of shooting, the main camera pleases with detailed and bright pictures both during the day and at night, with good contrast and a wide dynamic range. The ultra-wide-angle camera shows good results in sufficient lighting, but noticeably loses quality in the dark. The macro camera allows you to take interesting pictures of small objects, while its quality is noticeably higher than that of analogs with 2-megapixel sensors.
Video capabilities include shooting in 4K at 30 frames per second from the main camera, as well as simultaneous recording from the front and rear cameras. Shooting with improved dynamic range (Super HDR) and 12-bit color depth is also available, but only in 1080p resolution at 30 fps.
Fingerprint sensors
As for the fingerprint sensor, it works well, but there are some complaints. There are two biometric authentication options for unlocking the Galaxy A55: face recognition and an optical fingerprint scanner built into the display. The scanner works quite accurately, but is located too low, which makes it not always convenient to use. In addition, its accuracy is noticeably reduced when your fingers are wet.
Display
Compared to the Galaxy A54, the Galaxy A55’s screen has actually become slightly larger – its diagonal has increased from 6.4 to 6.6 inches. The display is still made using Super AMOLED technology, has a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and supports HDR10+, which makes dark and bright scenes more expressive when viewing the corresponding content.
The settings allow you to choose a color profile – from bright, saturated shades to more natural color rendition. You can also switch between the standard 60 Hz refresh rate and an adaptive one, which automatically increases to 120 Hz for smoother animation in the interface and games.
One of the key improvements was the increased peak brightness: from 1000 nits for the A54 to 1650 nits for the A55. However, such brightness is achieved only in small areas of the screen, while over the entire area it remains at a level of up to 1000 nits. Nevertheless, this is quite enough for comfortable use of the device even in bright sunlight.
Battery
Despite the increased size of the case, the battery in the Galaxy A55 remained the same as its predecessor – 5000 mAh. However, thanks to a more energy-efficient processor, the battery life should be comparable to the A54. Of course, everything depends on the usage scenarios, but with a moderate load without games, the smartphone can work for one and a half to two days, and the screen will be active for about 8 hours or more.
Samsung still does not focus on ultra-fast charging – the A55 supports wired charging with a power of up to 25 W. With a suitable adapter, you can replenish a little more than half the charge in 30 minutes, and a full charge will take a little over an hour. Wireless charging support is not provided in this model.
Performance
Users also note the smartphone’s performance. Let’s talk about it in more detail.
The Galaxy A55 is based on the eight-core Exynos 1480 chip, manufactured using the modern 4-nm process technology. The maximum clock frequency reaches 2.75 GHz, and the Xclipse 530 accelerator, based on the AMD RDNA2 architecture, is responsible for the graphics.
According to the results of synthetic tests, the processor provides a performance increase of about 15% compared to last year’s model, the graphics have become 32% more powerful, and tasks related to artificial intelligence are processed faster by as much as 167%. Considering that the Galaxy A54 already confidently coped with modern games (albeit not always at maximum), the Galaxy A55 promises even smoother gameplay, especially with 120 Hz activated. In everyday tasks, no difficulties with performance are expected either.
There are actually a lot of similar reviews. And in most cases, the user experience is extremely positive. We also recommend the Samsung Galaxy A55 for purchase. We are impressed by the battery life of the device, the design and assembly, the performance, which remains at a decent level even under prolonged load. In general, we were pleased with the quality of the cameras, including the front one, and the video shooting capabilities. The screen also did not disappoint – it matches the level of competitors, although now 120-Hz OLED displays with high brightness are quite common.
