New! Oppo Find X8 and X8 Pro: Brief Specifications

Oppo recently unveiled its Find X8 series flagship smartphones, and frankly, they are clearly aiming to be the best smartphones of the year. The company has updated the design, releasing a more compact Find X8 model, which is complemented by the Find X8 Pro version.

The Find X8 has a 6.59-inch flat LTPO OLED display with FHD+ resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz. The Find X8 Pro has a slightly larger 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with the same resolution and refresh rate, but with a special micro-square curve. This display looks flat, but has subtle curves on all four sides. Both models support peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits in normal mode and up to 4,500 nits for local areas when viewing HDR content. Both also have 32-megapixel front cameras and optical fingerprint scanners.

Oppo has introduced the most advanced camera systems in the Find X8 series. The camera island, made in the Cosmos Ring design, has become more compact compared to the Find X7.

Find X8 is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera with a Sony LYT-700 sensor (1 / 1.56-inch) with a 24-mm equivalent and optical stabilization. It is paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with autofocus (ISOCELL JN5), equivalent to 15 mm. The third module is a 3x periscope with a focal length of 73 mm, an IMX882 sensor and optical stabilization. The triple prism design in this module saves space compared to standard periscope lenses.

Thanks to the larger form factor, Find X8 Pro received an additional 50-megapixel periscope lens with 6x optical zoom. This lens features an IMX858 sensor (1/2.51″) with an f/4.3 aperture and optical stabilization. The 50MP 3x telephoto and ultra-wide-angle cameras have been carried over from the standard Find X8, while the main 50MP camera has an improved LYT-808 sensor (1/1.4″).

Both phones feature Oppo’s HyperTone image processor, which combines up to nine RAW frames into a single photo to enhance clarity, improve dynamic range, and reduce noise. There’s also a Hasselblad portrait mode and a LivePhoto feature that records short videos before and after you take a photo.

The Pro model gets a dedicated Quick Button that can launch the camera app with a double tap, act as a shutter button, and control zoom. Oppo has also brought back a slider for switching notification modes.

The Find X8 series is the first Oppo device to feature the Dimensity 9400 chipset, which works in tandem with a new cooling system that includes a graphite layer, vapor chamber, and thermal conductive gel integrated into the motherboard. Both devices will run the recently unveiled ColorOS 15 operating system, which includes a host of AI-powered features and a refreshed UI design.

The Find X8 has a 5,630mAh battery based on silicon-carbon technology, while the X8 Pro has a larger 5,910mAh battery. Both smartphones support 80W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging, and are IP69 water and dust resistant.

Oppo Find X8 will be available in Starfield Black, Floating Light White, Chasing Wind Blue and Bubble Pink colours, while Find X8 Pro will be available in Hoshino Black, Cloud White and Sky Blue colours.

As for the Find X8 Ultra model, it is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2025.
