Huawei Pura X is a new product with an interesting design, which was presented today in China. The device is equipped with a 6.3-inch display with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and portrait orientation, and on the top panel there are three cameras and a 3.5-inch square auxiliary screen.
Huawei designed the Pura X so that when unfolded it can be rotated and used as a wide clamshell. However, when folded, the hinge is located on the side.
When unfolded, the smartphone has a height of 143.2 mm and an impressive width of 91.7 mm, which makes it unusually short, but wider than most modern devices. When folded, its dimensions are 91.7 × 74.3 mm – the form factor remains non-standard, but quite convenient.
Both sides of the device are equipped with LTPO OLED screens with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The main display supports a peak brightness of 2500 nits. The outer screen offers a variety of wallpapers, including animated ones, and also provides access to the camera, messages, health apps, calls, and music services without having to open the phone.
An interesting detail: you can take calls without opening the device. The earpiece is located next to the LED flash, which means that the cover screen will be directed directly at the user.
Huawei Pura X received a triple main camera, located in one row. It includes:
- 50-megapixel main sensor (RYYB) with f/1.6 aperture and optical stabilization;
- 40MP ultra-wide-angle camera (RYYB) with f/2.2 aperture;
- 8-megapixel telephoto module with 3.5x optical zoom and optical stabilization.
Next to the cameras is a spectral image sensor, first introduced in the Mate 70 Pro series. For video calls, Huawei has added a 10-megapixel front camera built into the main display hole.
The smartphone is constructed using aerospace materials that can withstand pressures up to 1900 MPa.
A 4720 mAh battery, divided into two sections, is responsible for autonomy. The smartphone supports 66 W wired charging and 40 W wireless charging. A graphite plate with a thermal conductivity of 2000 W / mK is provided for effective cooling.
Traditionally for Huawei, the chipset of the device is not disclosed, and the company refuses to comment on this aspect. It is noteworthy that the Pura X runs on AOSP HarmonyOS 5.0, and not on HarmonyOS Next.
The smartphone is presented in standard and collector’s versions. The latter stands out with two exclusive back panel designs and an expanded memory configuration (up to 16 GB of RAM).
Available colors: black, white and silver, and the collector’s version is offered in unique Pattern Green and Pattern Red options.
