Galaxy Unpacked Recap: Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra Specs at a Glance

So, at today’s event, as expected, Samsung introduced 3 new smartphones – Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+: What’s New

In the Galaxy S25 presentation, Samsung focuses on One UI 7, new AI features, and Personal Data Engine. Together, the software can account for more than 50% of the cost of the Galaxy S25 and S25+ models.

However, the new products also received updated hardware. The devices are based on a specially developed Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset for Galaxy, which provides 37% higher CPU performance, 30% better GPU performance, and 40% faster neural network processing compared to the previous generation.

The Galaxy S25 now comes with 12 GB of RAM by default – the minimum configuration of 8 GB is a thing of the past. Options with 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB of storage are available, while the base version of the S25 remains the only one with the minimum storage capacity.

For improved cooling, the smartphones are equipped with evaporation chambers, the area of which is increased by 40%, and a new thermal interface material is used.

The display sizes remain the same: 6.2 inches for the S25 and 6.7 inches for the S25+. The thickness of the devices has been reduced by 0.4 mm, and the weight has become slightly less, without compromising the battery capacity: 4000 mAh for the S25 and 4900 mAh for the S25+.

The wired charging speed is also unchanged: 45 W for the older model (65% in 30 minutes) and 25 W for the younger one (50% in 30 minutes), wireless charging according to the Qi standard supports power up to 15 W.

The S25+ screen offers a resolution of 1440p+, while the standard version has 1080p+. Both devices are equipped with LTPO OLED matrices with an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120 Hz.

The main cameras have not received any hardware changes: a 50 MP main sensor, a 10 MP telephoto with 3x zoom and a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, familiar from previous models. However, software processing has been improved with the ProVisual Engine, 10-bit HDR recording is now available by default and a new Galaxy Log feature for more flexible video processing.

An Audio Eraser tool has also been added, allowing you to remove unwanted noise in recordings. Advanced Expert RAW capabilities are available for photos, including adjusting the depth of field, and Portrait Studio allows you to create more realistic facial expressions.

Other innovations include an Armor Aluminum frame made from recycled materials and batteries containing at least 50% recycled cobalt. The smartphones meet the IP68 protection standard. On board are 5G (including mmWave in some regions), Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. However, the S25 still does not have UWB support.

The Galaxy S25 software includes One UI 7 and guaranteed support for 7 years. An important innovation is post-quantum cryptography, which ensures data security even in the future with the advent of quantum computers.

Personal Data Engine allows the device to process AI tasks locally, for example, finding photos by voice request without sending data to the cloud. The new Now Bar on the lock screen offers personalized recommendations based on daily activity.

The power button now supports calling up the Gemini voice assistant, which works in Samsung and Google apps, as well as some third-party programs such as Spotify. The device comes with a 6-month subscription to Gemini Advanced and 2TB of Google cloud storage.

The Circle to Search feature has been improved and now recognizes phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs. Call Transcript helps summarize and organize call history, and Write Assist automatically formats notes. Drawing Assist converts sketches and text descriptions into images.

At launch, the models are available in Navy, Silver Shadow, Icyblue and Mint colours, and exclusively on Samsung.com – in Blue Black, Coral Red and Pink Gold.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: What’s New

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra lives up to all expectations. The new smartphone stands out with its more ergonomic design: Samsung has smoothed the corners of the case to make the device more comfortable to use.

Thanks to this, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has become thinner (8.2 mm versus 8.6 mm) and lighter (218 g versus 233 g) compared to its predecessor, the S24 Ultra. The case is still made of titanium and is available in several color options. In addition, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the first to receive Corning Gorilla Armor 2 protective glass, which is stronger than the ceramic glass of the previous generation and has anti-reflective properties.

The display remains the same — a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a refresh rate of 1–120Hz, Vision Booster, and adaptive color rendering.

At the heart of the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor with 12GB of RAM and a cooling system with a vapor chamber that is 40% larger. The new chipset provides a 40% faster NPU, 37% more powerful CPU, and 30% faster GPU compared to the previous generation.

Thanks to the accelerated NPU, AI capabilities have become even broader. Holding the side power button, you can summon Gemini. The updated Circle to Search feature now recognizes phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs for instant action. AI agents analyze text, voice, images, and videos to help you find the right data and suggest next steps, such as sending a GIF or adding an event to your calendar.

Call Transcript helps transcribe and summarize calls, Write Assist formats notes, and generative editing is now available on the device itself.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra uses the Personal Data Engine to process data right on the device, keeping it private in the Knox Vault. Post-quantum cryptography is included, protecting information from potential threats from quantum computers in the future.

Now Brief offers personalized recommendations and a summary of the day, including financial news, weather, and events. It can now be found on the lock screen.

All these features are based on One UI 7, built on Android 15. Samsung promises 7 years of OS and security updates.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s cameras have undergone minor changes, with a new 50MP Ultra Wide camera with an f/1.9 aperture. The rest of the camera specs remain the same: 200MP main camera (f/1.7), 50MP telephoto with 5x zoom (f/3.4), and 10MP 3x zoom (f/2.4). The front camera is 12MP (f/2.2).

Video recording is now in 10-bit HDR by default. For the first time, Samsung offers Galaxy Log mode, allowing for more precise colour grading. Expert RAW now has a virtual aperture mode for depth of field control.

Portrait Studio allows you to create personalised avatars powered by AI.
