6 basic colors and their respective light and dark colors for a total of 12 colors
The 12 new wallpapers for CarPlay confirmed in iOS26 developer beta 4 come in six basic colors: blue, brown, gray, green, purple, and red, each of which comes in light and dark versions.
Check out the rumored iPhone 17 series body colors
If we compare these six basic colors with the rumored body colors of the iPhone 17 series , we get the following.
iPhone17 | Wallpapers for CarPlay |
black | gray |
white | – |
Steel Grey | gray |
green | green |
purple | purple |
Light Blue | blue |

iPhone17 Air | Wallpapers for CarPlay |
black | gray |
white | – |
Light Blue | blue |
Light Gold | Brown |
iPhone17 Pro/Pro Max | Wallpapers for CarPlay |
black | gray |
white | – |
gray | gray |
Dark Blue | blue |
orange | Red |
There are no wallpapers for CarPlay that seem to be compatible with the white body color, but considering that the white titanium wallpaper for the iPhone 16 Pro series is green-based, it may be compatible with the blue base color of iOS 26.
The orange color has been rejected many times, but could it be a new gold color?
Predicting the color of the new iPhone is one of the hardest things to do. So far, predictions for the sunset gold and rose gold of the iPhone 13 Pro series, the orange of previous iPhones, and the crimson (dark red) of the iPhone 15 Pro series have all been wrong.
There are rumors that orange will be added to the lineup of new colors for the iPhone 17 Pro series, but even if it is announced, I predict that it will be a reddish gold, and that it will only look orange depending on how the light hits it.
